This is likely a bug with iOS 5 but you can try this and see if it helps.
Go to Settings-> Safari ->Clear History, Cookies and Data. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off.
Turn it back on by holding the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Try a System Reset:Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. A System Reset does not remove any apps, music, movies, etc. nor does it cause any settings to revert back to default.
